Hot Tub Removal

How to Prepare Your Hot Tub for Removal

If you are getting ready to move and need to get rid of your hot tub, don’t worry. We can help! Hot tub removal can be a daunting task, but the ABC Junk Removal & Hauling team is experienced in the process. But first, we’re going to need your help. So, here’s how you can prepare the tub for removal.

Drain the Water

The first step in preparing your hot tub for removal is to drain the water. This can be done by disconnecting the pump and draining the hose. Once the water has been drained, you will need to remove the plugs from the bottom of the tub. These plugs will need to be replaced before the hot tub can be moved. Emptying the tub of water isn't just for safety but also to ensure the tub is easier and lighter to move.

Remove Accessories

Once your hot tub is empty, you can begin removing the accessories, such as the cover, jets, lights, and other external features you added to the tub. Nets, skimmers, and other filters should also be removed, especially if you plan on replacing the hot tub with a new one. Removing these accessories ensures they don't get hauled away and that you can use them again.

Remove Stairs and Decking (Optional)

Removing the stairs and decking around your hot tub is always a great idea, especially if you don't have plans to replace the tub with a new one. But, don't fret! We can also remove the decking and haul it away if you don't plan on keeping it. Either way, the decking around your hot tub will have to go so it can easily be removed.
